Ronald E. Nehring (born 1947) was a Justice on the Utah Supreme Court. He was appointed to the court in 2003 by Utah Governor Michael Leavitt, and he retired in 2015. == Early Life and Education == Ronald E. Nehring was born in 1947 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, to parents Elden and Lillian. The family eventually moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, where Nehring was raised.〔Utah State Courts- Judges’ Biographies - http://www.utcourts.gov/judgesbios/showGallery.asp?dist=10&ct_type=S〕 A talented athlete, Nehring competed in track and field at Cornell University where he received All-American honors. In 1972, Nehring just missed qualifying for the United States Olympic team in the 4x800 meter relay.〔Salt Lake County Bar Association - http://www.utahbar.org/bars/slcbar/assets/Bar.&.Bench_Spring_2007.pdf〕 Nehring graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in History and was a member of the Quill and Dagger society.
